We highly recommend taking Step 1 first thing in the morning in order to achieve the benefits of it throughout the day. This also ensures that the the stimulating effects of Step 1 have the most time to wear off before bed. That said, if that didn't happen and you have taken Step 2 first, Step 1 absorbs best on an empty stomach, and we would therefore recommend waiting until significant food digestion has occurred prior to taking Step 1.
